Editorial Policy
Every page on yofair.net is written by us, and the facts on a card come out of our own product data: what the piece is made of, what is plated over it, how big it is, how many names or photographs it takes, what hangs beside the name, and the price.
What we do not print
No invented certificates, no laboratory results, no award badges, no customer counts. We do not write that a piece is hypoallergenic, that it will not mark a neck, or that a blanket is safe to leave in a cot: those are claims about a body, and a catalogue is not the place they belong. Where a page states something a reader would be right to check (what "gold plated" means in law, what nickel does, what the lead limit is on a children's product) the source is named on the page.
Photographs
A photograph on a card shows the piece with a sample name on it. Diagrams with dimensions, colour charts and comparison panels printed into the picture are not published here: a measurement belongs in a line of the specification where it can be read, and a claim printed into a photograph is still a claim.
Babies and skin
Nothing here is medical advice, and the baby blankets are written up as presents for a pram, a play mat and a lap rather than as bedding. That follows the American Academy of Pediatrics guidance on safe sleep, which puts a fitted sheet in the crib and nothing else for the first year. Presents for children under twelve fall under the federal limit of 100 parts per million of total lead set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission; that is the rule the category is under, not a test result of ours.
Prices
Figures come from our own catalogue update and are refreshed on a schedule set out on how we update the catalogue. Where a figure and the till disagree, the till is right.
Corrections
A mistake found is a mistake fixed on the page rather than argued about in a mailbox. Write to keepsake@yofair.net.
